  8. Thank you for purchasing "Dennis Miller That's Geek to Me". If you're
  9. reading this file, then you've already got the CD-ROM in the drive, so
  10. you're ready to begin this interactive comedy experience!

  12. QUICKTIME FOR WINDOWS
  13. ---------------------

  15. Please quit all other applications before running setup.
  16. To run properly, this product requires QuickTime For Windows version 1.1.1
  17. or later. Version 1.1.1 is supplied on the "Dennis Miller That's Geek to
  18. Me" CD, and will be installed on your hard drive when you run SETUP.
  19. If you have an earlier version of QuickTime For Windows installed on your
  20. hard drive by some other program, the SETUP program will prompt you and
  21. backup your older version to the directory DMGOLDQT under the directory
  22. where QuickTime is installed (this is usally C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM).  If you
  23. have a new version of QuickTime for Windows and are having problems with
  24. Dennis Miller That's Geek To Me, we suggest you backup your current copy
  25. of QuickTime into a seperate directory, then delete the copy in the
  26. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and rerun the Dennis Miller That's Geek To Me
  27. setup program.    You can then restore your newer version after playing
  28. Dennis Miller That's Geek To Me.

  30. FOR SMOOTH PLAY
  31. ---------------
  32. At the start of the program you will be given a choice between the larger
  33. and the smaller-size movies. Faster, more powerful computers will be able
  34. to play the larger movies smoothly, while less powerful machines should use
  35. the smaller movies. Normally, most 486-level machines, and 386DX machines
  36. running at at least 33 megahertz, are considered fast enough for the
  37. larger-size movies.

  39. Here are a few other suggestions to make this product play smoothly on your
  40. computer:
  41.  
  42. -  Configure your computer so that it makes available the maximum amount of
  43.    free memory for running Microsoft Windows. Ensure that you are not
  44.    running any other programs when you run "Dennis Miller That's Geek to
  45.    Me". Also make sure that the display mode for Windows is set to VGA 640
  46.    X 480 X 256 colors (for more information on this, consult your Windows
  47.    documentation). Next, restart your machine.

  49. -  Run Microsoft Windows and install the program on your machine by running
  50.    the SETUP.EXE file in the root directory of the CD-ROM. This will
  51.    automatically create a "That's Geek To Me" icon and a "Sanctuary Woods"
  52.    group in the Program Manager.

  54. -  Double-click the icon titled "That's Geek To Me" to begin the fun.
  55.  
  56. -  If you suspect hardware compatibility problems, please refer to the file
  57.    "COMPAT.WRI" on the root directory of the CD-ROM.

  60. NOTE: Installation on the Tandy Sensation! machine is a bit different.
  61.  
  62. -  After turning on the machine, run the Program Manager (the icon is along
  63.    the top righthand corner of the screen) from the Winmate menu.

  65. -  Click back to the Winmate menu.
  66.  
  67. -  Run the SETUP.EXE program from the Winmate menu. This will install the
  68.    program item and group in the Program Manager.
